Seitan is delicious in vegan and vegetarian recipes. Why? Seitan is a perfect fish and meat substitute. The texture of seitan is similar to the fibrous texture of meat and seitan has a wonderful succulent bite. Seitan is perfect for boiling, frying, grilling, barbecuing and stir-frying.

Seitan has a wonderful bite, good texture, comes in a range flavours (from Bertyn), is high in protein and low in carbohydrates, and is also the perfect ingredient for a vegan or vegetarian meal. Bertyn seitan has more fibre than other brands of seitan.

Recipes met seitan mince: cooking with vegetarian mince made from seitan

If you'd like to go meat-free on occasion, or if you already are a vegetarian, then try out our Seitan Veggie Mince. The seitan we use in our vegetarian mince is made from wheat and has a delicious bite to it.

Seitan mince is perfect for marinating and goes well in any dish. Our vegetarian mince is lightly spiced but can be seasoned any way you wish, and it also blends perfectly in the flavours of whatever dish you're making.

What you can do with vegetarian Bertyn Seitan Veggie Mince in the kitchen

Seitan can be fried, stir-fried or boiled. You can also simply mix the seitan mince into your dish.

The Bertyn vegetarian mince does not have to be fried - when we make the seitan we pre-cook it (find out how seitan is made here), and so the mince can be simply added to a dish.

Use our vegetarian seitan mince as a substitute for traditional (animal) mince. To bring it up to temperature, just add it to a warm dish and reheat briefly.
